Vera Fahrner's PhD deals with the attitudes or "mental models" that potential future users have with regard to renewable fuels. In addition to personality traits, the inclusion of political and environmental attitudes is crucial. In her dissertation, she focuses on developing an instrument to assess mental models in passenger and commercial transport. Using this instrument, she aims to examine which parts of a mental model can be changed by inter-individually different interventions in an experience sampling design.
