In her PhD, Karla Fliedner focuses on the perception of major life events. Typical examples of major life events are the completion of a degree, a break-up or the start of a new job. Karla Fliedner examines how self-report and peer-report (e.g. by the partner or another close person) are connected with the perception of major life events and which additional factors influence this connection (e.g. verbal exchange about the event). In addition to major life events, Karla Fliedner also researches the perception of everyday events and how these can be (dimensionally) recorded.
